Buck Goes Classic Once Again

Hey, remember me?, Buck Denaro, The man who started all of the articles? That's beside the point, I am back and here for another long one. In this article I will review Jakks Pacifics Classic Superstars line, Series 18 and 19. Here we go.

Series 18

Rikishi- This figure is by far the worst one in the set. There are no details to the figure other than its necklace and his ring gear. Though it seems pretty rare to find in stores for no apparent reason. Overall Rating- 6.5 Stone Cold

Steve Austin- This figure is pretty detailed with him coming with his signature ring attire, a beer can and his knee braces. It looks really good overall. Overall Rating 9.5

Val Venis- This is pretty weird but who is Val Venis again? It is a nice figure coming with a towel and his debut ring gear. It is still a good figure. Overall Rating- 9

Kane- This is a very good figure but everything is scattered throughout the eras of Kane. From the beginning of the Kane gimmick he came with the urn. Then it went to mid 1998 when he had to use the fire extinguisher after the first inferno match. Then it ends with the figure its self which captured Kane with his gear that he used in 2001. Overall Rating- 9

Honkytonk Man- This figure is only for real collectors or fans. Nobody really knows him if they recently began veiwing and I personally think that you cannot be a real WWE fan without knowing and being farmiliar with him. The figure comes with the white suit and on the figure its self it has the light blue tights. I think that nobody really knows him as a on screen character in todays business so it will be all over shelves with the series 14 figure with the black suit and red tights and the deluxe Classic 4 with the same light blue tights as this current classic in series 18. Overall Rating- 8

Jim Ross- It is about time that he finally gets a classic. He has only been announcing for WWE for 15 years and announcing world wide for about 30 years. They also did a really good job on this classic including a cowboy hat, a microphone and a announcing headset which has not been released in 2 sets. Overall Rating- 10

King Mabel- This figure is pretty good because they have not made a decent Viscera figure since the Ruthless 16.5. It also comes with his King Of The Ring crown  which he won in 1993 I believe. Please tell me if I am correct. But overall the figure is great. Overall Rating- 10

Ric Flair LJN- I really have nothing to say about this figure other than it was used with him in his signature pose. Overall Rating- 6

Mae Young- This figure is actually pretty good. So far it has been pretty hard to find. It is consided only to be put in 1 out of every 2 cases of 12 figures. I still have not found it so it looks like it has been selling out everywhere. Overall Rating- 10

Sunny- This is a pretty good figure that captures her gimmick as the manager of the LOD 2000. These are pretty good finds for me because she is a proclaimed relative of mine and I would like to find more of these in the future. Overall Rating- 10

Overall Set Rating- 8.8

Series 19

Adam Bomb- This is a pretty cool figure and I really look foward to getting my copies of this figure signed at NWA Legends in August. Also , for once K and S gets talent in time for their figures to come out. LOL. Overall Rating- 10

Cactus Jack- This is a pretty good Foley figure and it is way better than the Casctus Jack that came in the 3 pack with Sabu and Terry Funk. It comes equipped with a barbed wire bat. Overall Rating- 9

Evil Doink- This is a pretty good figure catching all of the aspects of his gear from his heel days. For some reason, I have no clue to why it comes with a tag team championship belt. Overall Rating- 10 ( Judged upon the figure its self not the accessories.)

Eddie Guerrero- This is a pretty decent figure catching ther gear from his Black Tiger gimmick. I was looking for the figure to come with the mask on it but it is not a big problem that it does not come with the mask. Overall Rating- 9

Howard Finkel- This is a pretty good idea because Jakks has not yet released a ring announcer figure. The figure its self is not that great but it is a good idea. Overall Rating- 8

Kevin Sullivan- This was an odd twist to the set but still it was a good idea to put a WCW draw on the set catching the trademarked robe of the Taskmaster, this is still a good figure also coming with the microphone, showing that Sullivan was a great speaker. Overall Rating- 9

Mankind LJN- Yet again I have nothing to say other that it includes Mr. Socko and that it, for a second time, the only figure to be released 2 times in the same set next to the Hulk Hogans from Series 8. Overall Rating- 7

The Rock- Finally the Rock gets a good classic figure catching the Rock in his prime with the Intercontinental Championship belt and a great scan on top of that. Overall Rating- 10

Tatanka- This is a great figure catching his gimmick from the early 1990's gimmick with the Bow and Arrow weapon which of course showed his gimmick and the figure is still the best part of the set and the weapon is recycled from the Ruthless Aggression 23 figure of Tatanka. Overall Rating- 10

Nikita Koloff- This is a great figure chatching his gimmick from the NWA with his signature dog collar included. This si still a great figure that I will buy. Overall Rating- 10

Overall Set Rating- 9.2

Thanks for reading this edition of the Money Shot, Until next time this is Buck Denaro.

Buck Finally Returns Under A Mask At LOTR 6

5/5/08  Hey all , I  just came back from LOTR 6 and it was a great convention. It was well run with some great talent. The talent was as follows The Franchise Shane Douglas, Mr. Hughs, Barry Darsow (Repo Man, Smash) Demolition Ax (Super Destroyer) Mr. Fuji, "The King Of You tube" Damian Demento, Gillberg, Ken Patera, The Honky Tonk Man, The Masterpiece Chris Masters, Typhoon (Tugboat), Greg Gange, Larry Henning, 2 Cold Scorpio, Steve Blackman, Ultimo Dragon and Booker T. I really enjoyed  being at the convention. I got everything I needed done. I will you a recap of how I thought everybody was.

Booker T- A very nice guy who showed alot of enthusiasm. Some kid gave him his own WWE toy ring and all of the lines stopped for everybody and I as well as others saws Booker get up and take pictures with the ring and the kid.
Ax- A great guest and an all around nice guy. I got my Demolition figures signed as well as a promo with Demolition and Fuji.
Smash- Another great guy who I got Repo Man and Demolition items done.
Mr. Fuji- I got a few pictures and a LJN done. Nice and easy to deal with.
Greg Gange- I got a few pictures done and he was a great guy and easy to deal with.
Chris Masters- A nice guy. I got a toy ring signed and a few figures done. I also enjoyed the radio interview he did.
Ken Patera- A very nice guy. He looked very different than he did back in the day. I got 2 pictures done because I could not find figures.
Hony Tonk Man- An extremly nice guy. Before his block I got him in the bar on a few Deluxe Classic figures.
Shane Douglas- A nice guy but personally believe that he did not want to BE THERE.
Typhoon- Another very nice guy. I got a Classic Superstar figure and a few promo pics signed.
Ultimo Dragon-An extremly nice guy. I got a WWE figure signed and ended up buying one of his 20 year exclusive sets from him.
Steve Blackman-Very nice. I bought 2 figures at the show and he had no problem signing them. He also is in great shape.
2 Cold Scorpio- A nice guy even though I had nothing to get signed because I got him on promo photos and figures in August in Boston Mass.
Mr. Hughes- He looked small and completly jacked. I already got all I needed done by him at Signamania when K&S had him.
Damian Demento- I got a few pictures signed and a poloraid  done. A very nice and funny guy. He had a sign that he had written that said "who's Damian Demento?"
Gillberg- A nice guy. I got some promos signed.
Kevin Nash- I got a series 1 toy done and 2 promos #'s 208 and 232. I got everything else done at Turnbuckle on LI.
Dawn Marie-extremely nice. I bought an exclusive figure and everthiing else at Turnbuckle.
Sunny- Always nice. My proclaimed relative.
Ivan Putski- Nice as always. Got a CS fig signed.
Sharmell-I got a few pictures signed. Very pleasant.
Missy Hyatt- She seemed nice but iIneeded nothing done.

The show was well run and I once again James and Terrance for all of their hard work on planning this and making this a reality. I will see you there again on October 16th 2008
with Jake Roberts and the Killer Bees announced thus far.

Thanks for reading the Money Shot,
Buck Denaro

Buck's Adrenaline Is PPV Style
2/19/08 Adrenaline 29 MVP vs. Matt Hardy - Ballin'. Legit this figure set is devoted towards a competition between Matt Hardy and MVP in a basketball match which was inturrupted by Duece and Domino leading to Hardy and MVP winning the Tag Team titles. Overall Rating-9 of 10 Cody Rhodes and Dusty Rhodes- This is another good figure set which includes Dusty in his street fighting gear which is the best Dusty in the gear. Cody made his WWE debut after Randy Orton nearly derailed Dusty's career. Overall Rating- 10 of 10 MIZ and Layla- This is another good set except for the fact that the Layla is recycled. This coalition was formed when the Miz picked up the contracts of Extreme Expose. Brooke was released and Kelly was turned face. Layla is the only one left. Overall Rating- 9 of 10 Overall Set Rating-9.5 of 10 Pay Per View 17 Umaga- This is the same Umaga but I really dont mind. They have been putting more effort into everything recently. I think they are trying harder. Overall Rating- 7.5 of 10 CM Punk- This is another good Punk figure getting new paintings on them each time. Good job. Overall Rating 8.5 of 10 Rey Mysterio- Great job. He came back heavier which it shows in this figure as well as a great job on his gear. Well done. Another good point is how the mask matches with the pants. Overall Rating- 10 of 10 Randy Orton- This is a good Randy Orton. They did a better job on the scan in general. Great job. Overall Rating-8 of 10 HHH- Better job on HHH. The picture I saw did not really let me see what the design of the tights is. They did a better job. Overall Rating- 8.5 of 10 Batista- This Batista is really better than recent ones. It may look the same but the head scan is different. Overall Rating- 7.5 of 10 Overall Set Rating- 8 of 10 New Exclusive Figure There is a new exclusive classic figure. The figure is Mick Foley as Cactus Jack. It will come with a barbed wire board, a barbed wire bat and a trash can.

Ruthless, Deluxe, Aggression = Buck?

2/2/08 Ruthless Aggression 31.5

Boogeyman- This is a good figure because it catches his short lived gimmick with only the black lines as his facepaint as well as the red background facepaint. My guess is that the
accessory will be that same clock.
Overall Rating- 9 of 10
CM Punk- This is another good figure because I am a big CM Punk fan and I like how it has his trademark Hardcore straight edge shirt. This is the same figure as Adreniline 28.
Overall Rating-8 of 10
Matt Hardy- This is the same figure as the one from the Vengence Night of Champions set. Another recycled figure. Why?  Have you guys given up (like me)?
Overall Rating-3 of 10
Randy Orton- Yet another recycled figure in this set. Why? They have given up. At least it seems that way.
Overall Rating- 1 of 10
John Morrison- This is another good figure by Jakks but it looks like one that he looks like he is cutting promos. The figure looks good and was a good idea to make.
Overall Rating- 8.5 of 10
Batista-The same figure as always. Nuff said.
Overall Rating- 1 of 10
Overall Set Rating-7.5

Deluxe Aggression 13

Stone Cold Steve Austin- This was a good idea putting him in the set. I like the figure and thats a selling point.
Overall rating-10 of 10
HHH- Not bad so far, another good idea. The last time they made a DA HHH was series 5. Good job.
Overall Rating- 8 of 10
Rey Mysterio- Good set so far. I like what the figure looks like and they are doing better scans on these figures.
Overall Rating-9 of 10
The Miz- He was the one who lost to Puder from Tough Enough right? Either way it worked out good for him anyway right?
Overall Rating- 9 of 10
John Cena- This is another good figure. I like how it looks and they did a great job.
Overall Rating- 9 of 10
Cody Rhodes- This is another good figure. I like the figure and they did another good job.
Overall Rating- 9 of 10
Overall Set Rating- 9 of 10

Buck And Fury Unmatched Combo

 1/31/08 Unmatched Fury 6,7,8

Series 6-

Eddie Guerrero- This figure is really good. It's good for a statue and it will likley be sold out in many places. This is a great figure for an Eddie Guerrero fan.
Overall Rating-9.5 of 10
Rowdy Roddy Piper- This is amazing . I have all of the statues so far but the classic superstars are my favorites. Like the Hogan from series 1 this is a great figure with a
perfect trim on it. This is worth the money I will pay for it.
Overall Rating- 10 of 10
Kane- This is very good but I would like it better with the mask and old gear. If this was in his debut gear I would like it more. Nontheless this is a great scan and I will buy.
Overall Rating- 8 of 10
Randy Orton- This is a great scan and it has his pose completley correct but he looks alot smaller in this scan.
Overall Rating- 7 of 10
Overall Set Rating-9 of 10

Series 7-

British Bulldog- This figure is phenomonal. I love the figures that are made like this but this is good. I love how they made it with him holding the flag.
Overall Rating- 10 of 10
Rick Rude- This is another good figure that fit with his giimick of doing this pose. This is another good figure.
Overall Rating-9.5 of 10
Edge- This is another great figure and it got the new forearmm tatoo. I like him as champion. If he world have had the belt on him for this that would be a big selling point.
Overall Rating-8 of 10
Undertaker- This is good but its recycled for the third time and now I'm tired of it. If I was not collecting them all I'd say adios to this figure.
Overall Rating-6 of 10
Overall Set Rating- 8.5 of 10

Series 8

Iron Shiek- This is another good figure. I like the idea of this set. This is a great figure and  the scan is great.
Overall Rating-9 of 10
Matt Hardy- This is a good figure but I dont really care for Matt Hardy so I like the scan but not him.
Overall Rating- 8 of 10
Shawn Michaels- This figure is better than the series 2 edition but its time he retires, maybe 1 more title run but thats it.
Overall Rating-9 of 10
Boogeyman- Greatest Unmatched Fury yet! It perfectly catches every aspect of his gimmick with the correct facepaint, staff, bag handing around his neck, pants, and clock in his
hand. This is the best so far and Jakks deserves the credit with a perfect idea for it.
Overall Rating 20 of 10
Overall Set Rating-10 of 10

Buck Goes Classic

1/15/08  Classic Superstars 17

Eddie Guerrero- Yet another Eddie classic figure. I dont really mind this but that was his look when he was a heel before he died and his face makes the figure look like a good guy gimmick.
Overall Rating- 8 of 10

Shane McMahon- This figure is ok if your catching his fued with Kurt Angle in 2001 but nontheless its a good figure with alot put into it.
Overall Rating- 7.5 of10

Repo Man- This is a great figure scan. It catches everything with Darsows Repo Man gimmick. It has the correct gear with the mask and jacket. It catches his complete gimmick.
Overall Rating- 9.5 of 10

Typhoon- Less than stellar but it is passable. I think its stomach is out of shape but the gear is perfect. By the way he will be at LOTR 6 (cheap plug). This is good but I would rather have it with Earthquake (John Tenta) in his gear in a Classic 2 Pack.
Overall Rating- 8.5 of 10

Rocky Johnson- This figure is great because of how it catches his look throughout his career. It is good and will be a harder find with all of the collectors looking for it. (You know who you are.... KEN, STEVE)
Overall Rating- 9.5 of 10

Ken Patera- This is great. I am still remembering the old LJN figure of him being the only one you found on the shelves. Now look at it. I think this is a good figure but it will be hard to find because its 1 per 2 cases according to Ringside Collectibles.
Overall Rating- 9 of 10

Ivan Putski- This another good figure form the set capturing his look from his career.
Overall Rating- 9 of 10

The Rock- Who left out the peices to the Capt. Lou? This figure has that Rikishi shirt that came with the figure 7 years ago. This is a sad waste of plastic.
Overall Rating- .5 of 10

HHH LJN- Sad waste of rubber. Who had the idea for this? Just because he is the bosses son in law doesnt mean that this is ok. This is garbage. This and $3.50 gets you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. And thats a small cup.
Overall Rating-0 of 10

Bucks Finally And I Mean Finally Come Home

1/6/08 WWE Ruthless Aggression 32

Umaga- I think this is a great figure except for the body area because I believe it makes the figure look mishaped. I also see that it catches all of the details of his gear and look with the Samoa tatoo of his stomach as well as his face on the side of the tights and his name on the other side of the tights. Overall Rating-8 of 10

Undertaker- I think this is an ok figure but it has been recycled way to many times form RA 23 and Adreniline 17. Why does it have to be used again. Although it catches the aspects of his gimmick it does not show they put alot of time into the detail. Overall Rating- 6.5 of 10

Randy Orton- I don really see what is ifferent form this figure to any other Randy Orton. Of course it has a slightly different scan for the head everything else is the same to other Randy Orton figures. Overall Rating- 5 of 10

HHH- Why this same figure? It is the same figure as the RA 30 edition exactly the same scan. I will not buy this figure. Overall Rating- 2 of 10 because Jakks has to put a little more effort into these.

John Morrison- This is a great figure and they captured it perfectly. It has the correct hair style and gear. This figure is a picture perfect Morrison figure. This figure is probably the best in this set. Overall Rating-9 of 10

Carlito- This is another great figure with great detail even on the knee pads. The detail is the photo of the bitten apple and it shows great picturing. Overall Rating- 9 of 10

Complete rating of RA 32- 8.5 of 10

Buck Gives His Feelings On UWF Ringside Reunion

2/14/07 Hey this is Buck Denaro I just got back from the K&S Wrestlefest UWF Ringside Reunion. It was a great time. I got to meet many people I look up to like Missy Hyatt, "Hollywood" John Tatum, Freebird and Hollywood Blonde Buddy Roberts, and last but not least Dr.Death Steve Williams. Many people were there and had a great time. The question and anwser session after the signing of 8 x 10's,figures, and poloroids was amazing. There was great and hard hitting questions asked by the best crowd at a convention and K&S' very own Steve. Be sure to look out for one of the best question and anwser sessions in a really long time. This is a classic question and anwser session that you have to check out. Pictures of this unique event will be sent in a few days.

Until next time, this is the Money Shot by Buck Denaro
