Hey, remember me?, Buck Denaro, The man who started all of the articles? That's beside the point, I am back and here for another long one. In this article I will review Jakks Pacifics Classic Superstars line, Series 18 and 19. Here we go.
Series 18
Rikishi- This figure is by far the worst one in the set. There are no details to the figure other than its necklace and his ring gear. Though it seems pretty rare to find in stores for no apparent reason. Overall Rating- 6.5 Stone Cold
Steve Austin- This figure is pretty detailed with him coming with his signature ring attire, a beer can and his knee braces. It looks really good overall. Overall Rating 9.5
Val Venis- This is pretty weird but who is Val Venis again? It is a nice figure coming with a towel and his debut ring gear. It is still a good figure. Overall Rating- 9
Kane- This is a very good figure but everything is scattered throughout the eras of Kane. From the beginning of the Kane gimmick he came with the urn. Then it went to mid 1998 when he had to use the fire extinguisher after the first inferno match. Then it ends with the figure its self which captured Kane with his gear that he used in 2001. Overall Rating- 9
Honkytonk Man- This figure is only for real collectors or fans. Nobody really knows him if they recently began veiwing and I personally think that you cannot be a real WWE fan without knowing and being farmiliar with him. The figure comes with the white suit and on the figure its self it has the light blue tights. I think that nobody really knows him as a on screen character in todays business so it will be all over shelves with the series 14 figure with the black suit and red tights and the deluxe Classic 4 with the same light blue tights as this current classic in series 18. Overall Rating- 8
Jim Ross- It is about time that he finally gets a classic. He has only been announcing for WWE for 15 years and announcing world wide for about 30 years. They also did a really good job on this classic including a cowboy hat, a microphone and a announcing headset which has not been released in 2 sets. Overall Rating- 10
King Mabel- This figure is pretty good because they have not made a decent Viscera figure since the Ruthless 16.5. It also comes with his King Of The Ring crown which he won in 1993 I believe. Please tell me if I am correct. But overall the figure is great. Overall Rating- 10
Ric Flair LJN- I really have nothing to say about this figure other than it was used with him in his signature pose. Overall Rating- 6
Mae Young- This figure is actually pretty good. So far it has been pretty hard to find. It is consided only to be put in 1 out of every 2 cases of 12 figures. I still have not found it so it looks like it has been selling out everywhere. Overall Rating- 10
Sunny- This is a pretty good figure that captures her gimmick as the manager of the LOD 2000. These are pretty good finds for me because she is a proclaimed relative of mine and I would like to find more of these in the future. Overall Rating- 10
Overall Set Rating- 8.8
Series 19
Adam Bomb- This is a pretty cool figure and I really look foward to getting my copies of this figure signed at NWA Legends in August. Also , for once K and S gets talent in time for their figures to come out. LOL. Overall Rating- 10
Cactus Jack- This is a pretty good Foley figure and it is way better than the Casctus Jack that came in the 3 pack with Sabu and Terry Funk. It comes equipped with a barbed wire bat. Overall Rating- 9
Evil Doink- This is a pretty good figure catching all of the aspects of his gear from his heel days. For some reason, I have no clue to why it comes with a tag team championship belt. Overall Rating- 10 ( Judged upon the figure its self not the accessories.)
Eddie Guerrero- This is a pretty decent figure catching ther gear from his Black Tiger gimmick. I was looking for the figure to come with the mask on it but it is not a big problem that it does not come with the mask. Overall Rating- 9
Howard Finkel- This is a pretty good idea because Jakks has not yet released a ring announcer figure. The figure its self is not that great but it is a good idea. Overall Rating- 8
Kevin Sullivan- This was an odd twist to the set but still it was a good idea to put a WCW draw on the set catching the trademarked robe of the Taskmaster, this is still a good figure also coming with the microphone, showing that Sullivan was a great speaker. Overall Rating- 9
Mankind LJN- Yet again I have nothing to say other that it includes Mr. Socko and that it, for a second time, the only figure to be released 2 times in the same set next to the Hulk Hogans from Series 8. Overall Rating- 7
The Rock- Finally the Rock gets a good classic figure catching the Rock in his prime with the Intercontinental Championship belt and a great scan on top of that. Overall Rating- 10
Tatanka- This is a great figure catching his gimmick from the early 1990's gimmick with the Bow and Arrow weapon which of course showed his gimmick and the figure is still the best part of the set and the weapon is recycled from the Ruthless Aggression 23 figure of Tatanka. Overall Rating- 10
Nikita Koloff- This is a great figure chatching his gimmick from the NWA with his signature dog collar included. This si still a great figure that I will buy. Overall Rating- 10
Overall Set Rating- 9.2
